BUENA VISTA TWP., Mich. (WNEM) - A fire broke out at the Abele Greenhouse and Garden Center in Saginaw on Sunday, March 19.
According to the company’s website, a greenhouse has been at the location since the 1890s and it has been a family-owned business for over 45 years.
The owners said the fire department is calling the fire an “act of God.” Investigators believe the sun shining on the plastic caused it to overheat and start the fire.
The greenhouse announced it was open on Monday, March 20.
“The fire was contained to our indoor building in the nursery. Thankfully no one was at the greenhouse at the time, and with the help of many friends and family, we were able to move all the plants that were affected. We are back to planting already today,” Abele Greenhouse and Garden Center said on Facebook.
