CARO, Mich. (WNEM) - A victim is recovering after police said a suspect barricaded themselves inside a Caro home Saturday afternoon.

Caro Police officers responded to reports of a felonious assault in the Congress Street area, south of State Street around 3:30 p.m.

Michigan State Police Caro Troopers, Emergency Support Team members, MSP K9′s and Trooper 6 responded to the scene.

Investigators said the home was cleared by State Troopers around 7 p.m., but the suspect was not located. State Police Canine Units were dispatched and searched for the suspect on foot.

State Police said an off duty MSP Caro Trooper found a vehicle connected to the incident around 7:50 p.m. in the parking lot of Club24 near M-24 and Riley Road.

Investigators arrived and found the 19-year-old suspect hiding under blankets in the back of a Chevy Suburban.

State Police said the suspect was not cooperative with troopers and minimal force was used to take him into custody. A 65-year-old woman related to the suspect was also arrested inside Club24 for obstruction of justice.

State Police said both are currently lodged at the Tuscola County Jail.

The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
